New from Colt: Mustang XSP, subcompact semiautomatic handgun with a 6-round magazine capacity

Colt’s Manufacturing Company introduces the polymer framed Mustang XSP at this year’s SHOT Show.

A subcompact semiautomatic handgun with a 6-round magazine capacity meant for comfortable concealed carry, the XSP is built using a black polymer grip frame and a blackened stainless steel slide and barrel, is chambered for the popular .380 Auto and features a 2.75” barrel.

Thanks to its polymer frame, the Mustang XSP features an optimized grip which offers improved ergonomics, and weighing in at less than 12 ounces, the XSP is the lightest-weight of all the Mustang models. A molded thumb “shelf” under the safeties allows an enhanced and comfortable grip with hands of all sizes, and a beveled cut at the root of the trigger guard to the frame lets the XSP sit lower in the hand, improving control.

The frame also includes an integral 3/8” accessory rail below the dust cover and squared trigger guard. The front sight is now an improved, more visible dovetailed design.
