There was a recent kerfuffle on the JTT Facebook Page regarding a picture that I posted of the TIHK (Tiny Inconspicuous Handcuff Key).
Some readers seemed to disapprove of its existence, its lawfulness, or maybe just its posting. There was some concern that it could pose a danger to law enforcement, a sentiment with which I wholeheartedly agree – which is part of why I post about such things…
Husband shoots 2 bank robbery suspects who kidnapped him, his wife
OLUMBUS, Texas -- Two bank robbery suspects were shot in Colorado County Thursday night by a man who said they kidnapped him and his wife, a bank employee. According to the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office, the couple had been held at gunpoint by the suspects inside their home just north of Columbus.

The clerk, quickly and smoothly draws a very real gun from underneath the counter as the suspect pointed the BB gun at home.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A central Minnesota man accused of killing two unarmed teenagers, shooting them multiple times as they tried to break into his home, has been indicted on first-degree murder charges, prosecutors announced Thursday.
A Morrison County grand jury indicted Byron Smith, 64, on Wednesday on two counts of first-degree murder with premeditation in the Nov. 22 deaths of 17-year-old Nick Brady and 18-year-old Haile Kifer. Initially, Smith was charged with two counts of second-degree murder.

A Montana man shot and killed the host of the Sportsman Channel show “A Rifleman’s Journal” Thursday night in what police believe to be a jealous rage, the Associated Press reported.
The incident started when the shooter, 41-year-old Wayne Bengston, learned that his wife was meeting with 43-year-old Greg Rodriguez over at her mother’s house, Whitefish Police Chief Bill Dial told reporters.

HOUSTON –A 21-year-old man sprang into action to protect his family Thursday night when three suspects barged into their northwest Harris County home.
The young man was home with his mother and father in the 3900 block of Brook Garden when the armed men forced their way into the house around 8 p.m., according to Harris County Sheriff’s deputies.
The family was in the middle of baking a cake, when there was a knock at the door.

This past Thursday a male and female armed couple broke into an Inkster, Michigan tax business.
Expecting money, the assailants were surprisingly met with a security guard who quickly retreated into to the back room of the office to grab his AR-15.
Realizing they were outgunned, the armed robbers retreated.

A Texas father, who watched a drunk driver strike and kill his two young sons, has been charged with murder after allegedly shooting the driver in the head moments after the accident.
David Barajas, 31, was charged with murder on Monday, more than two months after his sons David Jr., 12, and Caleb, 11, were killed steps from their home on a rural road outside Houston on Dec. 7.

An extensive manhunt continued Sunday as Los Angeles officials announced a $1-million reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Christopher Jordan Dorner, the former LAPD officer wanted in the killings of three people.
"We will not tolerate this reign of terror," Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa said Sunday at an afternoon news conference at LAPD headquarters. "Our dedication to catching this killer is steadfast. This search is not a matter of 'if.' It's a matter of 'when.' And I want Christopher Dorner to know that."
